چکیده
The global polarization of ? hyperons along the total orbital angular momentum a relativistic heavy-ion collision is presented based on high statistics data samples collected in Au+Au collisions at sNN=2.4 GeV and Ag+Ag 2.55 with High-Acceptance Di-Electron Spectrometer (HADES) GSI, Darmstadt. This first measurement below strangeness production threshold nucleon-nucleon collisions. Results are reported as function centrality well hyperon's transverse (pT) rapidity (yCM) for range 0–40%. We observe strong dependence an increasing signal towards peripheral For mid-central (20 – 40%) magnitudes ?P??(%)=6.8±1.3(stat.)±2.1(syst.) ?P??(%)=6.2±0.4(stat.)±0.6(syst.) Measurement of the Open Charm Cross-section in 200 Gev Heavy-ion Collisions at Star
Theory predicts that charm quarks are produced by initial gluon fusion during the very early stages of the matter produced in a relativistic heavyion collision. These gluon fusion reactions occur through high momentum transfer (Q) processes before the thermalization of the collision fireball [1]. Gluon fusion reactions scale with the number of binary (nucleon-nucleon) collisions, allowing us to...
متن کاملAcceptance effects in the hyperons global polarization measurement
The possible sources of systematic uncertainties in the hyperons global polarization measurement are discussed. The equation with detector acceptance effects taken into account is provided. Contribution of the hyperons directed flow into the hyperons global polarization measurement is shown. The systematic uncertainties of the Λ hyperons global polarization measurement in Au+Au collisions with ...

The probability of a projectile nucleon to traverse a target nucleus without interaction is calculated for central Si-Pb collisions and compared to the data of E814. The calculations are performed in two independent ways, via Glauber theory and using the transport code UrQMD. For central collisions Glauber predictions are about 30 to 50% higher than experiment, while the output of UrQMD does no...

متن کاملGlobal polarization of QGP in non-central heavy ion collisions at high energies
Due to the presence of a large orbital angular momentum of the parton system produced at the early stage of non-central heavy-ion collisions, quarks and anti-quarks are shown to be polarized in the direction opposite to the reaction plane which is determined by the impact-parameter and the beam momentum. The global quark polarization via elastic scattering was first calculated in an effective s...
